'Twas the night before chemo
When all through the house,
The laundry was washing
Every sock, shirt and blouse.
Every round gives me
A few days without pain
So I clean all that bothered me
Before I'm down again.
Go easy they say
Just don't overdo!
But it's hard when you haven't
Had anything to do.
The hours in bed
Must sound dreamy to most.
But I soon learned of this
There is nothing to boast.
I long to be strong!
To hike hills and be free.
To drive carpool, buy groceries,
Do laundry, be ME!
So I try to be good
But sometimes it's ok,
To conquer my world
Just a little today.

Great attitude ... and that is half the battle! I'm 16 years cancer free ... and thank God for each day! Hang in there.
You rock woman! One day soon you'll get to be you again. Until then, thank you for sharing your journey with us!
I love your poem! You are my rock star! I am halfway through radiation and doing pretty good. My doc is going with the current studies showing higher dosage for shorter works just as well (so I hope). So I only have to do 4 weeks. I can't live at home though for it, because it's out of state. My town has a Walmart and a Ross, but no cancer center. I keep checking in on you each week, and want you to know that I think you are wonderful. Keep getting better. Hugs :)
I love it!!!! Hang in there! You are doing great!
Woohoo! I love survivors!
You are so important to me. You are a great cheerleader and you keep me going and feeling loved. Thank you!
I'm so glad you are getting top rate care. I am getting radiation after my chemo is finished next month. Sometimes it feels never ending. Thanks for popping in to check on me!
Thank you so much for your encouragement! It is so helpful for me!
