Cars and Peacocks

Some of you may know my love of quilts.
I used to have a quilting blog but felt it was too narrow a scope for all of my crafting adventures.
I still make quilts though.
Simple ones.
I like big blocks and lots of color!
Last month this little guy came to celebrate his 1st birthday at Disneyland! We were lucky to have their family come visit our new house and go to his super fun Cars birthday party!
I found some super fun fabrics to go with Lightning McQueen!
Gravel gray and car race checkered red with some bright yellow squares!
I machine quilted circles to keep the batting in place.
It was super chilly that night as we sat outside at the "drive-in."
I had fun snuggling the birthday boy in his quilt.
The second quilt I finally finished this week for a friend who's serving a mission in the frozen north.
She requested peacock colors. It was fun finding all the brilliant, beautiful colors of the peacock in fabric, and even some that featured their feathers!
I love the colors!! I'm so in baby quilt mode that it turned out a bit smaller than I'd like, but it should still be snuggly for her.

Look for more quilts in the future!
I've got some fun ideas buzzing around my brain!

  2. Love that peacock quilt! The colors are so fun! I'm in awe of quilters. I've only ever finished one(the one for SB's bed, which was an easy, peasy rag quilt.) Getting the corners to line up right just frustrates me to no end. Thanks for sharing.
