Go Mama Monday: Beach Blanket Tic-Tac-Toe!!

Photobucket"/
Beach Bash!!
I had so much fun at One Month to Win It
and was so excited to join some of the other awesome former contestants to be part of the Beach Bash!

I love living in Southern California where the weather is always gorgeous and you can find people enjoying the beach year-round!

Today I'm going to show you how to make
a beach blanket tic-tac-toe!
My son is just the right age now to play games with
and we have fun playing games together.
I thought it would be fun to make this blanket for something to do when you're taking a break from the waves!

I love the basic sheets at Target. They're cheap, soft and come with a bonus drawstring bag!

Fold sheet in half and sew around the edges
just inside the seam allowance.

Measure the sheet across and divide number in thirds to determine where to lay your tic-tac-toe lines.

Since the sheet is not a perfect square, lay your lines towards the bottom of the sheet, leaving the extra space above for an X/O pocket.
Sew your vertical lines and then your horizontal lines, using the thirds measurement again.
This wide ribbon was just the perfect size for the lines on my board. :)

Cut your X's and O's out of a double layer of felt. You'll need to cut a total of 10 X's and O's for a set of 5 each.
I printed out a big X and O on paper for a template.
Printing your letters about the same size as a standard 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper will make them just the right size for your board.
Sew the two layers of felt together.
Sew a pocket on top of your blanket, above the tic-tac-toe board.
Sew a line down the middle of the pocket, dividing it for the X's and O's.

My son was so excited to play with the blanket game!

It's a cat's game!

I love the sheet because it's easily washable and it's easy to pick up and shake off the sand at the beach!

Have a fun and delicious summer!!
