Plum District: Zoomars Gobble Wobble Days!

Last week we went to the Zoomars Petting Zoo in San Juan Capistrano!

I was so excited to take my kids to visit Zoomars during Gobble Wobble Days!

Plum District was running a great deal for 4 admissions, 2 train rides, and 2 turkey crafts!

Of course Kelsey had to have a handprint turkey shirt for the occasion.

 We saw lots of fun, furry creatures!

Zedonks = Zebras and Donkeys mixed together = too cool!

This emu was freaking me out a little; he looks like he wants to bite my head off!

 The kids were excited to ride the train!

 And they loved the playground!

 Jeremy thought the hay maze was really fun!

 And he loved the corn pit! He said it was like playing in the snow, only better!

The kids could have spent the whole time in the petting area!

 They loved touching, feeding, and interacting with all the sweet little bunnies and guinea pigs!

 We loved our trip to Zoomars, and we can't wait to go again!

Sunday Inspiration

A few weeks ago our church choir sang this hymn, It Is Well With My Soul.

As a preface they presented the story of the composer, Horatio G. Spafford.

His story was so moving to me, as he endured many of the trials that would be my worst nightmares come true.

I invite you to read his story and feel of the great mercy and blessings in your own lives.

Gobble Gobble Girl!

One last Thanksgiving craft, and it's a cute one!!

We had a date with a turkey, so we got dressed up to meet him!

First I traced the cutest little hand in town.

Iron your fabric and interfacing together and cut out your handprint.

Iron another piece of interfacing to the inside of the front of your shirt.

Pin your hand in place on the shirt and sew your ric-rac legs in place.

Make a little turkey wattle out of your ric-rac.

Applique your handprint on the shirt with a zig-zag stitch, placing the wattle under his chin.

Usually I like to use a thread that matches my fabric, but I was out of brown and this rainbow was so fun!!

So fast, and so fun!

She had a ball visiting the animals, and the mommies there loved her turkey shirt!
