Reptile Zoo Playdate!

Recently we joined some friends at The Reptile Zoo in Fountain Valley for an educational playdate.
You may recognize the location from its previous name, Prehistoric Pets.
They have expanded from just a store to an amazing display of reptiles and insects!
You will even find some alligators in there!

We were shown to the back of The Reptile Zoo to a presentation room.
Aaron was our guide, and introduced us to many different creatures!
Here are a few that we got to meet that day.

Buddy the Ball Python was smooth and fun to pet.

Spike the Bearded Dragon was full of texture and such a beautiful color!

Sydney the Whites Tree Frog was adorable!!
He fit right in the palm of your hand.

Leo the Leopard can detach its tail!
Can you imagine being able to let one of your appendages fall off at will?

Jabba the African Bullfrog lived up to his Star Wars inspired name!

I was so proud of my brave girl for holding Fluffy the Rose Hair Tarantula!
My son said it wasn't his thing.
I couldn't agree more.

After our special presentation, we wandered around looking at all the amazing creatures.
There were so many huge snakes!
The one pictured on the bottom is Twinkie, the world's largest albino snake!

I was fascinated by the alligators.
They just sat there on the other side of the glass, looking harmless.
This big guy even fell asleep while we watched him!

My kids thoroughly enjoyed The Reptile Zoo and can't wait to go back again!
