Go Bald or Go Home

Last weekend I ended up in the hospital for a couple days with an infection.
It was kind of like a mini-vacation with morphine.
And while I was there, I noticed my hair was coming out.

As soon as they sprung me from the hospital I called my good friend Christy to help me out!
I absolutely adore her house because she's got 6 kids and it's always a party, with ice cream!

Kelsey thought it was great fun to cut my hair.
I will have to hide the scissors at home before she tries to give anyone else a haircut!

It kept getting shorter and shorter!
It was hard to see it go but kind of a relief since I knew it was coming.

I had to retrieve Jeremy from the Lego wonderland he was in to take a turn.
He was so cute, so in awe of what he was doing.

And then we got silly.

And I released my inner Flock of Seagulls.

And then it was gone.

Thank you Christy for making one of the hardest parts into an amazing memory for me and my family.
I could not do this journey without the amazing people that surround me and lift me up every day.

I have cancer.
It's still so unreal.
It's like a bad dream that I wake up to every day.

But I am still the luckiest cancer girl ever.

XOXO
Jaime

  7. What a great example you are for the kids! You are gorgeous -- and a warrior! My friend (who also has metastasized breast cancer) let her grandkids pull her hair out! Might as well make the best of it all. Prayers for your & your family.

  17. I just read your Diagnosis post. You are such an amazing and strong women. My prayers are with you. I was just diagnosed myself with breast cancer on Thursday, I was suspicious since Tuesday when my biopsies from my lumpectomies were being sent to Stanford for further testing. I am very fortunate that it has been caught early. I want you to know that I am here for you if you need anything. It would be an honor to send you a gift from my shop too. I know I did some shopping this week, and it cheered me up a bit. If you see anything you like from my shop please let me know, and I will send it to you.
