Strawberry Fields Forever!

A few weeks ago my daughter's preschool group was going to the strawberry fields for a tour!

Of course, me being me, I had to make her a new outfit for the occasion!

I started out with some beautiful fabric that reminded me of strawberries!
Polkadots of course.
I used my favorite pattern from Hadley Grace Designs, but wanted to do a paneled skirt like I had on my skirt/dress creation last year.

I decided to do my favorite french seams on the paneled skirt.
In case you haven't done them, they are super easy!
First, sew your fabric panels wrong sides together, 1/4 inch seam.
This feels super wrong, but do it anyway.
Then turn the fabric over with the seam inside and sew a second seam at 3/8 inch,
encasing the first seam allowance, and leaving a finished seam with no raw edges.

I love how smooth they look, even better than serging!

And here's the finished skirt!

Add a rufflicious strawberry and we're ready!!

My little strawberry blossom!
I belong in the South.
Except for my extreme fear of hurricanes.

The kids were excited to go on a wagon ride!

We got 15 minutes to eat as many strawberries as we could!!
It doesn't get much better than that.
Unless of course there was a chocolate fountain in the field.

Redder is Better!!

Lip Smackin' Good!

Happy Strawberry Season to you!
