The Polkadot Snail

The second week's challenge in One Artsy Contest was Mod Podge!

Mod Podge is definitely something I've just barely started to work with, but it's seriously cool!

There are several different kinds for different projects and someday I'd like to try them all!

The Polkadot Snail was born from a desire to capture my daughter's passion for snails.

Every day she goes out on snail hunts, exclaiming over each one and declaring them her BEST FRIENDS!

I wanted to create something that would be fun and modern at the same time so it would outlast her current obsession
and still be able to hang in her room after she's moved on to some other interest.

I mod podged my fabric onto a canvas and then arranged my paper dots in a rainbow snail swirl.

Each dot was mod podged on then and then the whole creation got a final coat of the magical mod podge.

I LOVE IT!

My daughter LOVES it!!

Hooray for MOD PODGE!!!

Patriotic Printables!

It's that time of year again to break out the red, white, and blue!!

Last year I made some great printables you can use for several occasions!

You can display these for Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Veteran's Day or any old day you want!

The Beaded Rainbow

As you know, I am knee deep in One Crafty Contest!

Last week's challenge was to create something with beads.

I wanted to make something to go in my daughter's room, and we love rainbows!

Ta-da! The beaded rainbow was born!

I love it when the ideas in my head actually work!

I printed out rainbow clipart and sized it to fit my frame.

I traced the outline of the rainbow onto the fabric and hand-stitched the beads on, 3 beads at a time.

It took hours. I'm not going to lie. I watched a lot of TV.
But I had tried before to glue them on and it looked terrible, so hand-stitched they had to be!

When it was done, I glued the edges of the fabric onto the glass from the frame.

I decided the frame needed a color pop!

I love this spray paint.

My daughter loves it!

And so do I.
